Smile
Being a dad has surpassed all my expectations and preparations. And even with my second son, it did not get any easier. However the ironic thing about this experience is that I would never exchange being a dad for anything in this world. Just look at the their smiles:

In days where I feel down and tired, I just take one look at them, and my strength is quickly renewed. Seeing their eyes light up when we pass by cars, trucks, pickups with a rear bike rack, and ofcourse their favorite train – is more than enough to keep me going. I know even more challenges await in the future but I push on for their sake, and I am glad that I am never alone because we all have our heavenly Father watching over us.

Bonding with Erpat and Utol – Massage
When my dad, my brother and I go out, it would almost always be going to a sauna / massage venue. We do this every month, relaxing and getting our backs straightened out by the masseurs.
It used to be that we play sports like ping-pong or basketball when we go out, but now we don’t have access to a decent basketball court or table tennis that is nearby, so we make do with a relaxing massage. The venue we normally go to is called Trimline Spa, the place is well taken cared of and has a lot of ammenities – hot pool, sauna bath, steam bath, body scrub and ofcourse a great massage. The attendants are also nice so we have been quite a patron there for a while now. I highly recommend it, although it would be better if we could hire our own Recreational Therapist Jobs who can service at home, but that would be too lazy.

Giving My Kids the Best
Being a dad of two young kids means I always love splurging them with gifts. My wife said I live my childhood fantasy through them but I say she’s just jealous! LOL!
My bonding time with the kids consist of going to the toy store and picking the best toy. My eldest loves trucks and cars so our house are now filled with all kinds – Peterbilt, Mustang, Audi, Bugatti Veyron – you name it, we got it. When we already bought too many toy cars I bought him cartoon figures, beyblades, train sets, and Legos instead.
Meanwhile, my wife wants to buy a doll house but can’t because we don’t have a baby girl yet. She says I have all the fun and she’s right.
The truth is I love giving them toys more than anything. Growing up I never had a lot of toys and I don’t want my kids to grow up feeling the same way I did. I may overdo it sometimes but pretty soon when they’re all grown up I won’t be able to give them these things anymore. Time flies fast and the last thing I want is to regret is making them feel loved and cherished when they needed it most.

Dad’s Vanity
Being a working father, time is really of the essence, every task has to be done within a specific time frame or else my other tasks will suffer. With this strict schedule, somehow I find it hard to find spare time and energy for vanity, let alone long beauty regimens.
But Dads also deserve to look good and feel good. So what I normally do for that is go to the nearest spa for cleansing and massage. However if you truly want to look good you have to go to beauty experts. This is where a good Cosmetology school comes in. We want experts to handle our car maintenance – so why not have beauty experts handle our physical maintenance?
One such example is the Regency Beauty School. From what I have read, they started 50 years ago and now they have 80 campuses all over the United States. This is a sure sign that people do understand that vanity and beauty is an important necessity that requires expertly trained professionals. I will definitely feel secure if the person that will handle my next facial will come from Regency.

Fun time with Kuya
While mom attended a seminar last weekend, I made sure to take that time for a Father and Son moment with my first born. And so went to the mall and went to wherever my son would want to go. First we went to check out the toy cars – which has been his passion since he learned to play – and then we went to the nearest arcade. We enjoyed a few games and Kuya Z was laughing all through out. His new favorite is a Truck driving simulator, complete with a big steering wheel and awesome sound effects. I know that to my son, he is driving a real truck! It was definitely worth missing sleep to make sure that my son enjoyed himself. After playing, we then went straight to the seminar venue, just a few minutes earlier than expected. Hope to have more fun time with Kuya and ofcourse with bunso.

Field Trip Fun
Spent a full day bonding with my son on field trip day. We went to Tagaytay and Batangas. It was very tiring for an oldie like me but it was sure worth it. I’m glad I was able to take the day off and be with my son on his very first field trip.

Practice
It’s been a long time since I had an interview – not to mention an audition! So this week I have been practicing the songs that were assigned for the big day. There was mp3 and music sheet included so I at least have an idea of how the song was arranged and also know the chords that will be used. Just need to play it a few more times to be confident on the audition day. I normally play relaxed but I might stumble and tremble when I know that the likes of musical director Mel Villena is watching and criticizing! Looks like I’ll have to keep the porch lights on all night tonight for my last night of practice. God bless me and may I bless God in return!

Naruto – Rasengan Happy Meal
My son and myself are big fans of Naruto. We watch the English subbed anime every week, and I always read the weekly manga. So when I heard that there was a Naruto happy meal toy being sold at McDonald food chain, we hurriedly got one without any hesitation. I wanted a funny Chouji, the one who used the best weight loss pill that gave him powers, just to tease Z. But of course my son picked the Rasengan toy. Look how happy he was when he got it:
