New Car?
My wife and I have been talking about replacing our car, specially after our house renovation. By God’s grace, our house renovation preparation is moving along – although slowly, but surely. The plans include a wider garage for at most two vehicles so we are definitely thinking of upgrading.
Don’t get me wrong, “tasty car” as my son named it, has been reliable and continues to take us to many places, but it is getting old. Our main concern about it is the maintenance issues that takes so much time and effort. Just in the past year, we were plagued by aircon problems. So we picked among available auto air conditioning systems and replaced the old one. Other maintenance work were also done on the doors, lights, breaks, engine and other parts. I just want to have a car that will not give me problems for a few years!
Getting a brand new car is our first option, the deferred payment options available are very attractive and affordable. There are times when I just want to jump in a new car at malls cause they are so cheap. However my wife being our resident money guru know all to well that its more practical to get used cars for cheap. As of now, both of us are still undecided, but one thing is sure though, we won’t be replacing Tasty car until we set up our very own business. It is the number one priority in our list which by the grace of God – we will be able to pull off.
Once all of that is done, then maybe we can go car shopping which would definitely be exciting. Since we are also planning to buy a property in a nice provincial property, we might as well look at cool utv side by side for some outdoor rough road driving!
I can’t forget how sad my son’s face was when we told him that we will sell Tasty when we buy a new car. He just wants us to keep it and customize it for him. I guess letting go is one big lesson that my son will learn when the time comes.

Its in the blood
Zack is really into music – specifically guitar driven music. At first he would always ask for his favorite tracks to be playing on the iPad. Soon he began to start singing and mimicking my guitar playing with his toy guitars!

Morning Basketball
My wife and I have finally been able to push through with our daily early morning basketball routine and everything seems to be going really well. My son is gradually getting the hang of the game and has been shooting hoops. I’ve been teaching him the basics for now, and am building up his power, speed, flexibility, clutch and endurance. If we continue this in the coming months, we can finally be physically fit!

Zyke shooting some hoops
Lately, I’ve bee reading about various diseases and fitness problems – learning about diagnosis mesothelioma, kawasaki disease, heart problems and other health issues just makes me strive all the more to be more physically active. And ofcourse being a Dad demands us that we set an example for our kids in all aspects – specially sports and physical activity. By God’s grace, my son will grow to love the sport and probably be a great basketball player someday, who knows?

Israel Houghton and Planetshakers Concert
As early as February – when the news of their concert were out – my wife and I already bought our front seat tickets. And now after the concert – everything is totally worth more than the effort, money and time we spent. Joining Israel and Planetshakers in wroship along with the wonderful worship crowd – feels like an earthly rehearsal for how our heavenly worship is soon to be done! Everyone was jumping, raising their hands, crying their hearts our and lifting their voice to God! While the “stars” of the night were careful to make the real “star” shine and give back all the glory to God.
Here are some of the pics I took:

Birthday!
Yesterday, my wife celebrated her birthday in a completely different manner. Usually we go out as a family for a swim or to eat somewhere nice – but this time around my wife opted to spend her special day participating at our women’s ministry event. The event was fun, with over 100 mothers within our community sharing the stage and their stories with plenty of food on the a buffet style table.
Different groups of moms showed their skills through presentations, first one was a touching drama presentation complete with nice props (though I wish they had a hanging chair in one of their scenes). There was a choral number that sang a joyful tune and ofcourse there was a hip dance number which my wife was part of.
Instead of enjoying herself, I was surprised to see my wife help out on the event and she even ended up dancing with the other moms – to give glory to God. Happy Birthday mommy J!

Physical Toys
My son is sadly part of the generation bombarded by digital toys and entertainment. Kids are no longer playing the toys that used to be popular when I was a kid. Once such toy is the yoyo, yoyoplay for yomega have a lot of interesting yoyos, but when I showed it to my son, he didn’t seem very interested. So what I did was buy a yoyo and showed him how to play with it. Thankfully Zyke responded and grew interested with the yoyo – specially I bought him a Naruto branded one. However I know that his interest will soon be shortlived because the other kids just want to play with their computer games. Its pretty boring to be a kid in this generation – which is why I try my best to spend quality time playing physical toys with my eldest.

BBC – Bohol Beach Club
Its been a few days now since our vacation and yet we still get dreamy eyed in reminiscing our adventure in Bohol. And we all agree that our favorite place among the many great places we visited was no less than the famous Bohol Beach Club. We liked it so much we spent two days there! Instead of talking too much, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Dao Diamond Hotel – Sights
We have decided to make the Dao Diamond Hotel our base of operations during our week long vacation at Bohol. And we are grateful for that decision because Dao Diamond Hotel turned out to be a very great place to stay at. The online pictures that we’ve seen simply does not do it justice. I took a picture of the beautiful lobby that greeted us, bearing a uniquely modernized Polynesian theme. Its a great place to read books and to use your laptop or tablet. As soon as we got settled the lobby was soon filled with tourists from all races doing their regular things, reading the newspaper, checking rv insurance quote, or simply sitting there idly while waiting for their day’s iterinary. The hotel has a number of fountains and mini pools where in fishes, turtles and other sea creatures abound. There is also a mini pool with fishes that feed on dead skin – great for feet cleaning. All in all, the 3 star hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of how everything was designed and looked.
