Ride on Toys for Our Boys

Ride on Toys for Our Boys

I always delight in giving my eldest son toys. His favorite are cars so that’s what I usually give him. Now at 6 years old he must have hundreds of toy cars already.

Among his toys, his most favorite and most valuable are the ride on toys. We bought him not one, not two, but three!

I know we might have overdid it but I assure you it was all worth it. Our little one spent a lot of time with his ride on toys and imagining he was a real driver.

The black car on the left side we bought just before his second birthday. It has a manual pedal that has to be pushed to move. It was too heavy for his little feet at that time but he had fun with the steering wheel, anyway.

The atv in the middle is motorized. I think we bought it for his fourth birthday.

Finally, the last and biggest (not to mention most expensive) is the red Audi. We bought it as a gift for his graduation from Kindergarten. It was love at first sight for him but we resisted and didn’t buy it on the spot. The next day we went back and bought it. My wife and I figured he deserved it after all for being good at school.

And then last year, we had an addition to our family – our youngest son. So look who can’t wait to play on his brother’s ride on toys?

Yes, it’s worth every penny. :)

Real Racing 2 HD

Real Racing 2 HD

We have been enjoying the game Real Racing 2 HD for quite some time now.   Although it is a pretty straightforward game, it has a lot of depth and the game can be hard if you choose to disable the computer assisted breaks.   If you have an iPad 2 and you want to see how powerful the iPad2′s graphics engine is, then this is the game for you.

Some basic tips in playing the game:

- Adjust the AI assisted break to your preference, remember that the higher you set it, the slower you drive going into corners.  If you can, disable the AI assisted breaks and strategize your own usage of the break pedal

- Save money, and plan your purchases of updates and cars.   Since races in this game is balanced, it means that you can’t use powerful cars in some low level races.  You have to check the power requirements of the next races that you have to win and purchase the right car or upgrade for it.

- Do multiple small quick turns so that your speed does not go down too much.  If you do full turns, you will notice that you’re speed is reduced.

- Avoid bumping into other racers, although you won’t need collision estimating because cars in the game are not affected much by collisions, it will still slow you down on the moment of impact.

Just follow the tips and you will enjoy the game. If you have other tips or you think there is something a-miss do let me know.

Coming soon

Coming soon

How I wish I had as many rides as my son has. But in the near future, when the time comes for our beloved car to be upgraded, our primary choice will be a pickup truck. There will be enough room for carrying important things that don’t normally fit the trunk of our car. When that time comes, I sure will be modifying the paint, wheel mags and add in trailer hitches so I can pull our older car if it gets in trouble. We do love our current ride, and if we could we would rather still keep it even when we have a new ride.

Tips in Taking Care of your Car’s Air Conditioning

Whether you have vintage air conditioning or the brand new models, you have to take care of your car’s air conditioning or else you won’t be comfortable driving around. I always turn my car’s aircon whether it’s summer or spring. Having a baby also means we have to keep the windows closed to prevent from inhaling smoke from outside. Air conditioning is a must in a car for our family that is why I follow these tips to keep it in tip top condition.

1. Clean your car interior including the carpet on the car floor to prevent mold and spores from forming. If you turn your mustang air conditioning and notice a smell coming from it then that means it has already been infected and a thorough cleaning is the only solution.

2. When you’re choosing a parking space, choose the one that is protected by a shade of a tree or a building. Without this protection, your car will get hot. Once you enter and turn on the air conditioning your aircon will have to work hard to cool your car.

3. If you have to start the car engine again don’t forget to turn off your corvette ac. Wait until your engine is stable before turning it back on again.

4. When driving at high speed, lower your thermostat setting.

Lastly, once you notice something is wrong even if it’s just something small take it to a technician right away to prevent more future damage.

Car Fixed

I have accomplished a lot these past few weeks. After our unexpected getaway to Subic I knew I waited too long to have our car repaired. The alarm wasn’t working, the stereo wasn’t working, the car would shake if I exceeded 100 km/h – those are just some of the problems I have to get fixed. So I went to the nearest auto repair shop – they also do rv repairs, by the way, to get the car fixed. The mechanic was precise and able and in two hours the car was as good as new again. He also charged me right and I was relieved I didn’t have to pay an exorbitant fee. I went home happy because I got that out of the way and I can drive without fear that it would break down in the middle of nowhere.

How to Find the Cheapest Car Insurance

How to Find the Cheapest Car Insurance

Because of these financially difficult times, car owners are looking for the cheapest car insurance that will protect their vehicle and not put a strain on their budget. However, are you truly getting a good deal for your money by opting for the cheapest car insurance?

It is the rule of thumb when buying any type of insurance is to make sure that you get a policy that is higher than the barest minimum. This is particularly true of car insurance. Why is this so? At the most, the cheapest policy can only cover repairs to the car if you happen to get your vehicle into a fender bender. However, in cases of serious accidents wherein the car might get totaled or it gets stolen by car thieves, a cheap coverage may not be enough to recoup your loss.

Before you even consider buying the cheapest car insurance, take a look at the some important factors in your locale that can justify such a low-priced purchase. If you live in a low traffic neighborhood or if you only intend to take your car on short jaunts, yes, you may get cheap car insurance. Next, inquire about the accident rates in your area. If there is a high incidence of accidents, then it may be necessary to get higher-than-minimum insurance. Finally, check for incidents of car theft. If you live in an area with a high incidence of car theft, again, you should not get cheap car insurance.

Cargo Liners for Your Car

The world’s very first cargo liner for cars and SUVs was developed as a result of the need of inventor Tammas (Tom) Hamilton to protect the interior of his brand new S-10 Blazer from the dog hair, claws and scratches of his yellow Labrador George.

Cargo liners are made from strong vinyl which matches the interior of the vehicle. Because it is water proof, it is also very easy to clean. For cargo liners to be installed inside a car or SUV, the vehicle needs to be brought to the factory (such as in the case of Cargoliner.com) in order for the liners to be accurately measured, fitted and hand sewn so that every corner of the car is completely covered.

If you are thinking of having cargo liners installed in your car, you can make inquiries with Cargoliner.com, other online distributors or local cargo liner factories in your area. It may be necessary to bring in your vehicle for the interior to be covered with the cargo liner be measured, so that the installer can provide you with an estimate on how much it would cost.

Car Tales

My father-in-law decided to buy a brand new car almost a year ago.  He was working hard on his new business the past couple of years before finally deciding it was time to reward himself for all his hard work.  Before that, he only rewards himself with small purchases like a TV or new shoes so this is a really major expense for him.  Before buying his first car, he already knew he wanted a Honda.  In our country, the two major car manufacturers are Toyota and Honda and the Honda car is certainly the more luxurious between the two.  He did a good deal of research first before making his purchase – checking out different websites on specs of the different Honda car models.  He checked out the accord-cpe specs, accord-sdn specs, and civic-cpe specs before finally setting his eyes on the stylish Honda City.  Not long afterwards, he was driving himself a spanking new Honda City.

We were happy he finally rewarded himself with his own car but we were happier when he decided to give us his old Mazda car. hehe!  It was already a decade old but it still runs good.  It has definitely helped us a lot because we didn’t have to take the public ride anymore after that.  Plus, it was getting harder to commute with a little boy tagging along.  Now, we have more freedom traveling from place to place.  My wife is also on the way and we would be needing the car more than ever.  We may not have one of those spanking brand new cars but our trusty old car fits us just right.
