Bluetooth Speakers
When we bought our iPad, we have been thinking of getting a good sound system for our home. At first we were thinking of getting one of the many iPad dock stations that have good speakers, we also checked out various home entertainment systems like the lg home theatre system, a Sony 5.1 surround speaker set and a Toshiba branded home entertainment package. But what really captured our interest are the blue tooth speakers. You can walk around the house and wirelessly play music, that’s pretty convenient! Too bad the models being sold were a bit too small for my taste. We ended up not buying anything – as we were undecided. In the future however, we will probably go for speakers with bluetooth capabilities.

Bohol – Things To Bring
Tomorrow is the big day that we’ve been waiting for. All our things are packed now, we are just trying to decide on a few more things to bring, like should we bring our favorite iPad – which claims to be the Best tablet? Or should we just leave it behind and bring a laptop instead?
Hopefully security in the hotel that we are scheduled to be on will be good. Tonight will be an important time to have a family prayer so that we may enjoy our stay at Bohol.

Work At Home Perks
There are so many work at home perks, but the most important and valuable of them all is more time with my family.
While working at home, I still get to be with my family the whole day, though they are not to disturb me when I’m at work, they still get to hug me and get my attention a few minutes at a time. During breaks I can rest on my bed with my sons and I can also enjoy a lunch time bonding. My family “visits” me at my work area at home to greet me good morning every day which is very sweet and was next to impossible before when I was working at my old office. Things are going well and thankfully my boss is a family man who encourages and even reminds me to prioritize family over work.
Just a few minor qualms worry me, like PLDT’s inconsistent connection and my back up ISP – Sun Broadband’s- poor signal and slow internet connection. Hopefully faster cable internet or 4G internet will be available here soon so I can rest knowing that I have stable connection everyday for work. For now I will have to look for a good cell booster that might help my backup 3G wireless modem connection.

HP Pavillion G4 vs Macbook Pro
It’s been more than a month since I bought my HP Pavillion G4 and I have to say that I am satisfied with it’s performance. Although severely overshadowed by the quality of my wife’s MacBook Pro, my HP Pavillion G4 has better specs and compatibility.
Here are the specs of my HP Pavillion G4 vs my Wife’s MacBook Pro:
If you look at the specifications, my HP has the upper hand. I have very quick boot up and shutdown time, I can play 3D games, I can instantly connect to Projectors and LCD/LED TVs without the need for adapters and I can use basic headsets with mic. These are things I won’t be able to do with the MacBook Pro – well not without shelling out dough for adapters.
However my wife’s Macbook Pro dominates in real world matters. The Macboook Pro has a very sturdy design, while my HP feels “plasticky” and fragile. The LCD display looks better on the Macbook Pro than on my HP. The keyboard of the Macbook Pro looks and feels better than my HP, it also has a keyboard backlight feature that’s not found on my laptop. The touch pad of the Macbook Pro is glass, very smooth and inviting to use, while on my HP, although it’s not as bad as the ASUS 1215b touch pad, it simply pales in comparison to the glass touch pad of the Macbook Pro.
Last and most important of all, the Macbook Pro beats my HP in terms of style and brand. There’s just something about Apple that gives it a high quality look.
Even with all that, I am still a happy camper. Since I am a gamer, I can never imagine myself having an expensive laptop that I can’t play games on. I might cross over and bite the Apple in the future but for now, I am very much happy with my HP Pavillion G4, even my son approves

Asus 1215b Touchpad – Update
The nightmare is finally about to end. After more than a month of waiting and wasting time, money and resources going to and from the stupid Premium PC Depot at Gilmore, finally they decided to give us the refund. Not without further hassles though. I paid them cash straight out, while they refund me with a check that is not convertible to cash… I just didn’t want to further deal with them anymore so I took it and left. Hopefully this check will not bounce and we can move on with our lives.
Funny Information: The manager mentioned that Asus has issued a recall for all their Asus 1215b. But I seriously doubt that – because the next store has the same problematic netbook for sale.

Refund
Finally, after a month of keeping my money, someone from Asus Customer service has approved the refund of their defective 1215b Netbook. Even if it took them a month, they finally did the right thing. So a word of warning, if you encounter any ASUS notebooks – make sure you test all of it’s functionalities, especially the touch pads as I have read that this is a common defect on most ASUS netbooks. I certainly do not want anyone to have to go through the same ordeal. To be fair, Asus seems to have better priced laptops – and I have been an Asus motherboard user before so you may still get some good ones, but as for me, this is the last time I am dealing with them, unless they send me one of their high end laptops to compensate for the frustration, time and resources wasted.
And if you ever get to a Premium PC Depot store and their offer is too good to refuse, make sure you test every nook and cranny of the item your buying. They are nice sellers, but bad at customer service after sales – spare yourself the trouble of having to deal with management that does not care about their customers. I had to contact ASUS directly to get the touchpad issue fixed when they should be the ones to expedite the resolution – because they were the ones that sold me the defective netbook in the first plaace!
Anyway when we get the refund, we can put all of this aside and finally wear some funny tshirts, and just charge this crazy purchase and customer service… to experience.

Asus 1215b Touchpad problems
A month ago, we purchased a netbook for my wife – it was an Asus 1215b, and we purchased it at Premium Computer Depot in Gilmore. This is currently the worst purchase of our lives!
When we got home after purchasing the netbook, my wife was already excited to use the Asus 1215b. She’s been wanting to buy a smaller laptop to replace our current 15″ Gateway Laptop and was excited to try it out. Sadly, after just a few minutes of usage, the touchpad stopped working properly. At first we thought this was just a minor set back, and that a driver upgrade could fix it. After doing basic troubleshooting, we searched the net and found out that the particular series of Netbooks from Asus (1215) does have the same problems all over the globe. And so began our month long problems with Premium PC Depot who does not honor their warranty agreements.
It would have been better if we just bought some gmc mats where I can use ASAP, compared to the Asus 1215b which I paid in full – only to get no working product..

PLDT’s poor service
Since I’ll be working at home, one of the most vital requirements that I have is having a stable and fast internet connection. With that in mind, I have been looking for a new internet service provider, which will replace my current ISP – which is sadly the worst and richest of them all – PLDT. I am currently connected to PLDT’s “legacy” – which translates to outdated old old – line. The sad part is I have been waiting for months now and they haven’t done anything to address this. So I will be leaving PLDT and they will lose one of their old accounts (this line has been with them since the early 90′s). Sadly that doesn’t seem to bother them, as the technician said, one will disconnect and ten more will replace me, so good luck with their business. When Taguig becomes saturated with internet connection and other lines are available, we will see how PLDT will fair with their type of mindset. I’ll probably be getting wireless internet for the meantime and maybe employ a cell booster antenna to help with the connection, until a good cable/line connection becomes available at our location. I hope someone from the higher ups of PLDT reads this – deception/marketting can only go so far with poor products and customer service. :/
