Crossroads

Crossroads

Finally, after years of hard work, enriching the wallets of gas companies, car parks and fast foods among many others – I have decided to turn right on the crossroads and work for myself! My wife and I have been discussing about this and we have decided that it was dangerous to depend on a fixed income that can be removed at any time. Having seen the blessings that continually pour with my wife’s work at home, we know that it’s the right time. Upon trial and error, careful consideration and lots of prayer, we’ve come to conclude that it’s best to do work that allows for more time to venture into passive income, blogging and business. And so I bid the industry that I have been with for almost 7 years – a grateful farewell. I do fear for the worst – since this will be a new phase in our life, outside of our comfort zone, but I know that God will be with us just as He was when our family was starting. I’ll end this post with an excerpt from a song:

If you never stop when you wave goodbye, you just might find if you give it time, you will wave hello again, you just might wave hello again. That’s the way this wheel keeps working out…You can find me, if you ever want again, I’ll be around the bend… I’ll be around

When to resign

I have been working for the same company for almost a decade now – and have seen so many resignation letters and emails – that I ask myself when will it be my turn? I have been thinking about resigning and have expressed my intent but have not really pushed myself so far as to actually hand out the resignation letter. Maybe because I do still enjoy work – the only thing that I don’t like about it is the long travel time and the urge to improve on my other strengths. The other thing is I want to earn at my own pace – and have more time for music and being physically fit. Maybe get to a gym and buy apidexin. Well I’m still undecided as of now – specially since I have a family of my own – it’s not an easy gamble. But I do know that the end is near – well unless there are new developments and opportunities that would outweigh my other options. Ah choices!

Teambuilding

It would be a busy weekend again for me. Me and my team mates are going to have a team building at a hot spring resort in Montalban, Rizal. I wouldn’t have to bring any hiking backpacks because there is simply no time to go hiking in the nearby mountain. We’re going right after work, stay there overnight, and then I’ll have to go early in the morning so I can attend service at our church.

Although this event is for team building I also want to share the gospel with my team. I’m fortunate enough to be in a position of influence with regards to my team and I hope that I can use my position to be able to share the gospel. Since yesterday, I have been racking my brain how to include this in our itinerary. It’s not easy but I hope by doing this I can touch a life or two.

Eye Glasses

I just recently purchased my second pair of eye glasses. And yes I know that it is a sign of my eyes getting tired and also a show of my age! I don’t particularly like wearing glasses, but my eyes tire out too easily without em. Even if the glasses offered the zoom capabilities of a binocular, I would rather have a perfect vision. Of course we can’t have everything so for now, you can call me four eyes, at least when I’m in front of the TV, computer or when I’m driving. I can immediately feel the effect and my eyes are hurting less now. I just hope that I take care of this new eye glasses to make it last for more than a year.

Good morning sunshine!

Good morning sunshine!

After more than a year of working the night shift – I’m finally back to saying hello to the sunshine. Nothing really beats working the day shift! It’s like being alive all over again. I still go to work to early to be stuck with the rush hour but at least I can see the daytime working citizens when I go home in the afternoon. Usually I get 4 and am happy with 6 hours of sleep, but now I get to sleep soundly for even 8 hours. I even considered getting some natural sleeping pills, good thing it’s now in the past. Another plus is I get to do more of my extra curicular activities in the afternoon and early evening. And lastly I get to enjoy my restdays better because everyone sleeps and wakes up as I do, albeit not as early as I do, but still the same. Now I just have to focus on getting back in shape… Thank you Lord!

Memories and Repairs

Memories and Repairs

Lately my son and I have been travelling by ourselves to and from the house that we will be moving into. Since this is also the same house that I grew up with, I have been monitoring the progress of the repairs and repainting being done to our home. It has also become a good bonding moment for me and my son where we can talk and listen to music on the radio. The repairs are almost done, and the paint is also almost finished. In just a few days time, we will be ready to move in. Looking at some of our old furnitures reminded me of my first encounter with Acne, it was the first day of my grade 6 class then and I was shocked to find a huge pimple on my face! I wish they had information like exposed acne treatment reviews available back then to help out clueless teenagers, well, I made it through the day alive so still no complaints. My son Z will hopefully have less issues with acne, and we will make sure that we are there when he sees his first pimple to help him out. Moving into this house will definitely bring back memories, and hopefully it can help me in guiding my son properly.

Moving out work out

Moving out work out

This will be the 3rd time that we will be moving out so I have a fairly good idea of what it entails – sweat and back breaking lifting of boxes, furniture and appliances! As the years go by, we incurr a few more furnitures and fixtures which become additional burden on moving out days. Maybe I should check out alli reviews or hit the Time Works excercise machine to prepare my self for the hard work to come in this coming weekend. Our apartment is already filled with boxes and I have instructed our helper to not fillup the boxes too much so it can be carried easily and so that the box won’t break. Come that day I pray that the Lord will give us the strength to carry the things out and the strength to carry on in our new home.

Moving far away

Moving far away

Since we currently live around 15 minutes of drive time away from work or (equivalent to 1 trike and 1 jeepney ride), my wife and son would from time to time go to my office and we would go out and eat or they would hang out with me at the ending hours of my shift.  Yesterday we did just that, I helped my wife do some errands during my break and introduced my son to some of my co-workers.   When I logged out, we even watched Shrek Forever After (I reviewed the movie here).  Since we are moving, I realized that the next time this will happen, my wife and son will be travelling a longer distance. It will probably take a while before they can fetch me from work again. While looking at term life insurance quotes I wonder, is the property really worth the hassle and inconvenience? I hope – yes.
