Work At Home Perks

There are so many work at home perks, but the most important and valuable of them all is more time with my family.

While working at home, I still get to be with my family the whole day, though they are not to disturb me when I’m at work, they still get to hug me and get my attention a few minutes at a time. During breaks I can rest on my bed with my sons and I can also enjoy a lunch time bonding. My family “visits” me at my work area at home to greet me good morning every day which is very sweet and was next to impossible before when I was working at my old office. Things are going well and thankfully my boss is a family man who encourages and even reminds me to prioritize family over work.

Just a few minor qualms worry me, like PLDT’s inconsistent connection and my back up ISP – Sun Broadband’s- poor signal and slow internet connection. Hopefully faster cable internet or 4G internet will be available here soon so I can rest knowing that I have stable connection everyday for work. For now I will have to look for a good cell booster that might help my backup 3G wireless modem connection.

Make money at home by blogging

I make money at home by blogging.

It all started when we were looking for additional income. I was working as a middle manager before but we were looking for something new. My wife has has been interested in blogging from the get go but we did not know that we can earn money through blogging.

We tried data encoding, captcha decoding, pay per click and other oddball online ways to earn money. What really helped us though was when my wife got a work at home Transcriber job. In between all these, my wife and I have been maintaining our blogs and have been getting more information about earning money through blogging.

And now, my wife has long since resigned from the Transcription job, and has focused full time on blogging. She is earning much more than her income at the Transcription job while at the same time spends less time and effort. Her income even surpassed mine a number of times, which brought the two of us to decide to focus on blogging and other internet opportunities.

I have also resigned now and started working at home as a Web Content Producer. It’s a nice change of pace and my family has gotten stronger and closer because we spend more time at home. I still spend my spare time making money by blogging and plan to do so until I have too much money to spare.

Now our goal is to help other bloggers to see this opportunity as well. You can make money blogging. You can do so in a variety of ways: by getting advertisers, partners, sell products, get links and many more. PLDT’s poor service

Since I’ll be working at home, one of the most vital requirements that I have is having a stable and fast internet connection. With that in mind, I have been looking for a new internet service provider, which will replace my current ISP – which is sadly the worst and richest of them all – PLDT. I am currently connected to PLDT’s “legacy” – which translates to outdated old old – line. The sad part is I have been waiting for months now and they haven’t done anything to address this. So I will be leaving PLDT and they will lose one of their old accounts (this line has been with them since the early 90′s). Sadly that doesn’t seem to bother them, as the technician said, one will disconnect and ten more will replace me, so good luck with their business. When Taguig becomes saturated with internet connection and other lines are available, we will see how PLDT will fair with their type of mindset. I’ll probably be getting wireless internet for the meantime and maybe employ a cell booster antenna to help with the connection, until a good cable/line connection becomes available at our location. I hope someone from the higher ups of PLDT reads this – deception/marketting can only go so far with poor products and customer service. :/

Online Security

Recently, one of our sites where hacked for the second time. Good thing that our host was able to bring it back up – but the problem was they were passing the blame to the customer, and saying that it was because of an outdated script. We followed their instruction to update the scripts but I did tell them that we have multiple sites hosted elsewhere which were not having any problem, so the problem was not in the scripts – their server is not secure enough. I wonder if they are even secure from electronic pickpocketing – and online fraud! This recent event made us think about moving all our sites to a better and more secure alternative.

I have been busy the past few days searching at ebay. Although I wanted to buy a new iphone to replace my aging phone, this time I would spend my extra cash on a much needed guitar effects. I have been blessed this year having more time to pursue my first love, music, but at the same time the need to upgrade my musical instruments arises. At first, I tried canvassing at our local music stores but soon I realized that it’s really cheaper to buy online. Good thing my brother-in-law will be arriving from the US this January so I can just buy the effects online and have it shipped to his address then he can hand carry it on the plane when he goes home next month. It would mean it will be more than a month before I get my hands on my new toy but I guess I just have to wait if I wanted to get the best value for my money.

I have been thinking of being a work-at-home Dad. However, I know that working at home is not that easy and I have to prepare myself for this. That is why I have been searching for tips online on how to succeed in my quest to work at home.

One of the things that I need to evaluate are my skills. What are the things that I’m good at and at the same time what are the things that I enjoy doing. I need to love the job I’m doing to be able to do it long term, that’s why. After doing an evaluation I think I can start with writing articles, blogging, and copywriting. There seems to be a lot of demands out there for this type of work and I can write a good article or two.

The good thing about working at home is that there is really no fancy equipment needed. We already have an internet connection that’s reliable so all I need is a sturdy desk and a comfortable chair which I don’t have to spend a lot of money to be able to buy.

I know I can’t quit my job now as work-at-home dads don’t get paid as soon as they start. I have to balance my schedule so I can still keep my day job and at the same start with my goal on working online. I may have to do it after office hours where I can spend two to three hours looking for a job online. I will have to apply on jobs that have flexible working hours and can fit my current work schedule.
Working at home is not easy as a pie. It’s still a real job that requires hours of work. I hope I can follow these tips right away so I can succeed in working online.

PLDT MyDSL first impression

As if our recent car problems were not enough, we were also confronted with internet problems. We are currently using PLDT myDSL and I have to say – it is the SLOWEST internet ever, and to think we are currently at 1Mbps connection! Our SmartBro connection in Cainta was way better, and did not give me any problems at all! The internet connection is so slow I can’t even watch a decent Youtube video! The phone line is also bad, I can barely hear the person on the other line. So I called technical support and it took me 30 minutes of waiting before I got to reach a tech which did not know what to do. To add insult to injury, I went to a PLDT business office yesterday and guess what, I waited for almost 3 hours just to change the name of the account to mine. Paying for something that I don’t get really ticks me off, it’s like an electric fireplace insert in my head – heating me up! Still, I’m going to give PLDT a chance – since we just moved and this phone number has been with our family for decades. But I won’t hesitate to have this line cut if the problem will persist this month.
