Martin OMCPA4
My brother in law is about to go back from the States again, and thus I am tempted to make another guitar related purchase. I am thinking of finally getting a good all-solid wood acoustic like the Martin OMCPA4. Hope I find a good deal.

No drilling -_-
One of the most unreasonable rules that we have to abide by as we wait for our house renovation is the “no drilling” rule. Our apartment is spacious and elegant, but the problem is we can’t change how it looks because we are not allowed to drill holes on the walls. This means we can’t hang photos, paintings, fans, TVs etc. Our air conditioning unit have also been put aside because of the ridiculous rule! We had to buy flat panel stands just to be able to set up our LCD TV properly, albeit the stand takes up quite a lot of space. I can’t wait to finally get back to our house and drill holes to my heart’s content.

Cool new acoustic synth
Now this is something to look forward to, I hope that the technology allows for non-intrusive attachment into acoustics.

Shortcut?
What is the quickest way to improve playing technique – this is one of the most common question that I get from my students. It’s as if they are looking for a shortcut to improving their skills, unfortunately I have to give them the hard facts that the quickest way is discipline, proper practice regimen and good old wood shedding. This question gives me the opportunity to explain the importance of every aspect of their playing – specifically timing and rhythm. This is where I direct the student’s attention to metronomes and playing with backing tracks or virtual drum machines like the fxpansion geist at Guitar Center.

Z at Boracay
From time to time, I still look back to our Boracay vacation, and it gets me thinking of having another vacation this summer with my family. Here’s Z enjoying the sand and the beautiful sunset scenery at Boracay.

Building Permit Delay
We have submitted all our requirements to the City Hall planning department back in mid-January, but up to now we are still getting the same run-around and lame excuse from them. After almost two months, they are still not done getting the permit ready even when we accomplished all that they needed. Are they sitting on the papers? Does it need more than a month to review the plans and compute for the tax? If I were their manager I’d fire their ass for being unbelievably lazy!
So for now we have to wait before we continue with the construction of the new house, if only they did their job properly, half of the house would probably be already done, and we can even have the garden water fountain started. I’m not easily ticked but I just can’t stand lazy employees – especially those in the government!

Zack Likes to Play
Zack likes to play… is a valid statement. And it is valid all day, anywhere, anytime any place. Here are some shots of him playing at the airport, at the park and in bed before sleeping.
