Hunt for a Guitar Case

Hunt for a Guitar Case

My 1983 Fender Sratocaster JV is in need of a new home. The current gig bag that I use is many years old already and is almost about to give out, which is why I have been actively looking for a good gig bag or guitar case that be an exact fit for my guitar. I’ve already checked out the generic cases that are available and sadly they are not as fitting as I would hope so I am hoping some guy out there could sell me a case that is specifically made for Fender Strats.

Island City Mall

Island City Mall

One of the best things about staying at Dao Diamond Hotel is its location, it is a few minutes away from the airport and a mall. The nearby mall – Tagbilaran’s popular Island City Mall – is the place for tourists to replenish supplies and eat cheap fast food. The Island City Mall also offers other amenities and products that will interest both the locals and the travelers. The top floor has a Cinema if in case a nice movie is showing and you have some free time to watch. There is also a small kiddie section for kids to play at. The middle floor is where all the food action is found, from local special food shops like the Buzzz Cafe, to your typical fastfood like KFC, Jollibee and Greenwich. There is also a department store where you can buy anything from clothes to souvenirs which you can give as “pasalubong”. The basement floor houses the supermarket where in tourists and locals can buy grocery items for cheap, and it also has a foreign exchange and a small souvenir shop. There is also a small food court.

Island City Mall will not be able to rival the big malls of Manila, but it is a refreshing sight in an island like Bohol.

Dao Diamond Hotel – Room

Dao Diamond Hotel – Room

I was naturally expecting the room to be great since the exterior and lobby was nice, when we opened our room for the first time we had high expectations. Thankfully the room was well designed, although it was not as awesome as the lobby or the exterior, it had a practical and simple design that will allow you to simply rest. The pillows and bed were nice and soft – as if they were brand new. The lighting was a bit dim for my taste but it is great for sleeping. It seems like the hotel does not prefer stainless steel sinks, at least for the rooms, but the sink they installed was nice none the less. The aircon was cold and everything was comfortable. We had a minor issue of getting a TV remote that does not work, but it was quickly replaced by the friendly staff. All in all we were pleasantly satisfied with the room.

Dao Diamond Hotel – Sights

Dao Diamond Hotel – Sights

We have decided to make the Dao Diamond Hotel our base of operations during our week long vacation at Bohol. And we are grateful for that decision because Dao Diamond Hotel turned out to be a very great place to stay at. The online pictures that we’ve seen simply does not do it justice. I took a picture of the beautiful lobby that greeted us, bearing a uniquely modernized Polynesian theme. Its a great place to read books and to use your laptop or tablet. As soon as we got settled the lobby was soon filled with tourists from all races doing their regular things, reading the newspaper, checking rv insurance quote, or simply sitting there idly while waiting for their day’s iterinary. The hotel has a number of fountains and mini pools where in fishes, turtles and other sea creatures abound. There is also a mini pool with fishes that feed on dead skin – great for feet cleaning. All in all, the 3 star hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of how everything was designed and looked.

Bohol – Things To Bring

Tomorrow is the big day that we’ve been waiting for. All our things are packed now, we are just trying to decide on a few more things to bring, like should we bring our favorite iPad – which claims to be the Best tablet? Or should we just leave it behind and bring a laptop instead?

Hopefully security in the hotel that we are scheduled to be on will be good. Tonight will be an important time to have a family prayer so that we may enjoy our stay at Bohol.

2012

2012

Compared to 2010, 2011 was a bit uneventful in terms of my music projects – which was mostly my fault due to being busy with so many things. What dominated 2011 is first our new baby who is now 1 year old, church ministry work, my new work at home job and a bunch of new gadgets and gears. I didn’t even have much time to play games!

This 2012, we have laid out our plans and it looks like I’ll try to shift my energy and focus back to music and hopefully finish the project that has been years in the making. Health is also a primary concern for my family as well, adding more physical activity to our daily routine.

I am sure this year will be much more blessed, and a few weeks from now, we are planning to have our family vacation at Bohol. We are praying that the weather will warm up and cooperate so we won’t have to wear heated clothing at the beach. And hopefully our health and our kids health will stay up throughout our stay there.
