Refund

Refund

Finally, after a month of keeping my money, someone from Asus Customer service has approved the refund of their defective 1215b Netbook. Even if it took them a month, they finally did the right thing. So a word of warning, if you encounter any ASUS notebooks – make sure you test all of it’s functionalities, especially the touch pads as I have read that this is a common defect on most ASUS netbooks. I certainly do not want anyone to have to go through the same ordeal. To be fair, Asus seems to have better priced laptops – and I have been an Asus motherboard user before so you may still get some good ones, but as for me, this is the last time I am dealing with them, unless they send me one of their high end laptops to compensate for the frustration, time and resources wasted.

And if you ever get to a Premium PC Depot store and their offer is too good to refuse, make sure you test every nook and cranny of the item your buying. They are nice sellers, but bad at customer service after sales – spare yourself the trouble of having to deal with management that does not care about their customers. I had to contact ASUS directly to get the touchpad issue fixed when they should be the ones to expedite the resolution – because they were the ones that sold me the defective netbook in the first plaace!

Anyway when we get the refund, we can put all of this aside and finally wear some funny tshirts, and just charge this crazy purchase and customer service… to experience.

Asus 1215b Touchpad problems

A month ago, we purchased a netbook for my wife – it was an Asus 1215b, and we purchased it at Premium Computer Depot in Gilmore. This is currently the worst purchase of our lives!

When we got home after purchasing the netbook, my wife was already excited to use the Asus 1215b. She’s been wanting to buy a smaller laptop to replace our current 15″ Gateway Laptop and was excited to try it out. Sadly, after just a few minutes of usage, the touchpad stopped working properly. At first we thought this was just a minor set back, and that a driver upgrade could fix it. After doing basic troubleshooting, we searched the net and found out that the particular series of Netbooks from Asus (1215) does have the same problems all over the globe. And so began our month long problems with Premium PC Depot who does not honor their warranty agreements.

It would have been better if we just bought some gmc mats where I can use ASAP, compared to the Asus 1215b which I paid in full – only to get no working product..

Coming soon

Coming soon

How I wish I had as many rides as my son has. But in the near future, when the time comes for our beloved car to be upgraded, our primary choice will be a pickup truck. There will be enough room for carrying important things that don’t normally fit the trunk of our car. When that time comes, I sure will be modifying the paint, wheel mags and add in trailer hitches so I can pull our older car if it gets in trouble. We do love our current ride, and if we could we would rather still keep it even when we have a new ride.

Relief

Relief

After a tiring day, there is nothing that takes away stress and fatigue as quickly as seeing my cute sons. They truly are my relief. Kuya Zyke will give me a hug while Zack will provide cute entertainment. I am so blessed to have these two loving and lovable beings in my life. My prayer is that I will continually be used by God to be a good father to them. :)

Tiring Week

Finally Friday! This past week has been quite tiring for me and my family. First because this is the week where I started my new job and second we had to go to my mom’s house from time to time because she is visiting here for just a few weeks. Right now almost everyone except me have cold, and some even have sore throat. So my order of the day earlier was to replenish our vitamins supply. This will help us fight off fatigue and the possible sickness that will come with it. I had to write down what we needed to make sure we get the right vitamins – vitamin C and a multivitamin with iron, we don’t want to get the wrong medicine!

I remember reading about Actos, an oral diabetes medicine that has been shown by recent studies to lead to serious injuries such like heart attacks! The unlucky ones that used the drugs have now filed what is called the Actos lawsuit, against the drug maker. I definitely don’t want to worry about things like that in the future so we only use tried and tested generic vitamins.

Working at Home – Disconnections

WAHD (Work at Home Dad) Day 1 was finally over! The first part was a bit hard – and it’s all because of our internet service provider, PLDT! I encountered a number of disconnection, and thankfully my client was not impatient. I felt like I could lose my job at day 1 all because PLDT’s internet connection was ironically – disconnecting. I did purchase a SUN broadband for back up – but it did not work as I was hoping it would during internet peak usage hours – which coincided with my schedule. With all the disconnection hassles – the training was finished and I accomplished some tasks. I also got a good feedback from my client. Hopefully this will be the start of a great working experience – and hopefully PLDT will work better for the few more days that I will stay with them – as I surely will leave their very poor service.

Bedroom Overhaul

Bedroom Overhaul

Since we are planning to do a total remodel of our home, one of the most important part of the house that we are brainstorming about is the main bedroom. Especially since I’ll be working from home now, we have to make sure that the Master Bedroom will be inviting and relaxing. The first order of the day was to create a home office room, which is where my wife and I will be doing our work at home stuff during the day. So we have to make sure that after the work, we will be happy to rest at our bed.

Since most of our furniture is still relatively new, there are only a few things that we are supposed to buy. We might want to get new stylish lamps, better cabinets and a new Bedding, like the ones from The White Company as they look really cozy. We are still debating on which particular color to pick, but we are a bit limited to colors that will match our existing furniture. Hopefully we can get beddings that enhances the color if not the same color as the furniture. We are both really excited with how the house and the rooms will turn out. May God bless our new endeavor.

Vacation

Since my mom went back from abroad – we have been having our 2 weeks long family reunion. My brothers and sisters meet at my mom’s house for food and talk, and sometimes we go out for some fun and shopping. Ofcourse the children are the ones that enjoy this the most, as they play with their cousin. Z loves playing with his “Pare” (loosely translated as best friend). his cousin. This will be another long week of driving and going out, but it’s worth it so that our mom is happy while she stays here for her vacation.
